Farrier role
An exciting opportunity has opened up at one of the United States premier farrier practices. You would be learning from a qualified vet who is also an AFA Certified Journeyman farrier, and a former US Olympic Equestrian team farrier with 30yrs experience working on high end sports horses. We will teach you the ins and outs of therapeutic and corrective shoeing practices that keep the whole horse healthy. Red Oak Equine is a busy multi farrier practice servicing clients in Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey 3 weeks a month and 1 week in sunny Florida (accommodation provided for Florida visits). The person we are looking for: - Self starter, motivated person with a good work ethic who wants to learn the trade - Ideally with prior experience with horses - Has attention to detail, when it comes to hooves, the little things make the difference - Enjoys working outdoors - Minimum 1 year commitment What we will be providing: - Training from some of the best in the business, working on high end horses - Learn how to run a farrier practice - Meet lots of new and interesting people - Visa support - Assistance to find local accommodation - Salary package At Red Oak Equine we take pride in the work we do; we are here for the horses first and foremost.
